Something From Nothing – Lockdown Makes

“I used a broken piece of a pallet and an offcut of a window liner frame I made for a VW camper van.”

Shielding to protect himself throughout 2020 and dealing with health problems has made the year a challenge for retired garage aftersales manager Michael Patrick.

But he has kept his mind and hands busy throughout his time on lockdown by finding out odds and ends of wood and turning them into a variety of magical carvings.

Crafting articulated models and intricate designs, using everyday tools, the hobby has helped Michael, pass the time.

“It doesn’t hurt my arthritis any. Using wide grip objects helps,” said Michael. “The ideas and challenges come to my head from looking at every day objects.
